Housing for Everyone Campaign

I recently conceived and executed a poster campaign for Pivot Legal Society, supporting their YIMBY initiative. Yes In My Back Yard refers to the presence of social housing in one’s neighbourhood. The concept involved contrasting typical camping imagery familiar to the middle and upper class, with the abject outdoor living conditions many homeless are forced to live in. Posters were applied around Vancouver, particularly under each of the city’s 8 bridges (the Lion’s gate bridge was excluded since no one lives there). The project files and information has since been packaged and passed on to Pivot Legal as a potential exercise for their summer interns.

The artist’s statement, detailing technical and conceptual decisions, as well as extensive documentation, is available here.

the no club

A club I founded to aid collaborative DIY projects. For people who don’t know where to start or how to do a project they have in mind, they can sort of treat the club members as if they were asking their friends for help. More info on the site, drop me a line and feel free to sign up for yourself!
